Debate vs. Action

Debate vs. Action

Over the past few years as a libertarian I have been involved in innumerable debates:
  • Why the this or that policy is wrong ...
  • Whether laws, governments, or taxes are good or bad ...
  • Etc ...

One thing that I've discovered is that for every person I've moved through argument, I've moved four times more through the argument in action. That tells me that ideals in action are far more powerful than ideals as academic arguments. That is not to say that arguments should be done away with, and certainly they should be written down as a minimum, but a higher priority should be placed on putting the ideals into action. I'm speaking specifically about things that we can bring to market based on the ideals. The market really is a conduit for change.

What are your thoughts on this idea. Where do you see the most change coming from? Arguments or Ideals in action?
